Hi and welcome to the world of Breathe Sunshine.  The Breathe Sunshine Foundation is the brainchild of prolific South African artist Trenton Birch who founded the charity with long time friend and fellow South African John Medupe.   

Through fundraising and donors we build and fund schools and community centres in South Africa's previously disadvantaged communities.   We believe education is the key to tackling poverty which will ultimately lead to a reduction in crime and violence – a day to day challenge constantly facing our nation.

The Breathe Sunshine Sessions begin in Cape Town

We launch the weekly sessions on Friday July 9th at a new venue called Hoodwinx in Cape Town.  The venue has an amazing balcony with sea, city and mountain views, the food is good and its a great place to start your weekend shenanigans after work.

We'll be playing a mixture of all kinds of beats and moving forward will have guest vocalists, percussionists and other feature artists.  All proceeds go to the foundation. 

Johnny Clegg - Live in London over the world cup.

We're proud to be supporting the legendary Johnny Clegg live in London on June 19.  World Cup fever will be in full swing and this promises to be a must see for all London based South Africans.  Arno Carstens will make a special guest appearance and also supporting will be Trenton And Free Radical.  A percentage of proceeds will go towards the foundation. Filming in the Marcus Garvey Community in Cape Town

Trenton and Free Radical recently recorded a music video for their track "Barefoot Hope" in the Marcus Garvey community.  The band donated a keyboard and some funding through the foundation.  Check out the video at trentonandfreeradical.com
